Alan Kaplan is a board-certified urologist who became a board-certified hospice medical director; a path that gave him both the clinical depth of a surgeon and a physician's conviction that the end of life deserves the same rigor as any other medicine.
He built Alleviate from the ground up through a physician-led roll-up in Southern California, bringing hospice and palliative operations under a single standard of care rather than assembling a portfolio. His UCLA Anderson MBA is why the company is run like a durable operator, not a mission with no margin; and why quality and compliance are treated as competitive advantages rather than obligations.
He sets the clinical standard the organization answers to. The board-certified medical specialists who deliver that standard are the ones a referring clinician reaches for a clinician-to-clinician conversation on a complex case.

Brent Emery is the operational backbone of Alleviate. A U.S. Naval Academy graduate and former Marine Corps helicopter pilot, he has spent his career leading in environments where structure, discipline, and steadiness under pressure are not management theory; they are the difference between a good outcome and a bad one.
He brings that same discipline to how Alleviate runs day to day: the systems that make intake responsive, the documentation that closes the loop with referral partners, and the operational integrity that regulators and health-system partners look for. Where Alan sets the clinical standard, Brent makes sure the organization actually delivers it, at scale, without dropping the human part.
A team where the physician thinks like an operator and the operator thinks like a mission commander.
